The Brixham pirates are hoping for an even bigger turnout for our new record bid during the third Pirate Festival this Spring.
Spokesman Captain Blood 'n' Guts said the Brixham Buccaneers, who also stage family entertainment on most summer Thursdays, are determined to hang onto their claim to fame.
"We had brilliant support from everyone last year for the big count, so we're relying on them again to come along again this year for the Mile of Pirates."
"It was a fun day for everyone last year and attracted pirate fans from as far afield as Kent, Scotland and Germany."
The "Arr-Factor" has shanty talent as musicians and singers appear in our local pubs.
We broke the world record: “The Most pirates in one gathering” at the 2009 festival, it was broken again, we won it back in 2010 with 1744 pirates!
The “Arr Factor” - Enjoy sea shanty and folk music at various venues around the town.
There are more pirate events! - the Brixham Buccaneers hold other events throughout the year including Pirate Days.
To take part in the record attempt you must wear a pirate costume including suitable trousers, shirt, hat, eye-patch and a hook or sword.

Trawler Race
Brixham's big maritime event takes to the water on Saturday 15th June 2013.
The annual event has brought together two of the port's biggest one-day festivals - the famous Trawler Race and the Fisherman's Mission Open Day.
Skippers dress the boats with bunting and battle it out with two lap race around the Bay and fun and festivities on the quayside all raising money for local charities.
The winner is not always the first across the line as there is a very strict handicapping system.

All new for 2013 is our latest addition to the Pub. The Sail Loft will offer a further dynamic to this establishment. Serving Devon Cream Teas during the day and Champagne and Cocktails in the evening.
